Donald Judd, Stedelijk Van Abbemuseum Exhibition Catalogue, 1987

First edition Catalogue - 3,750 copies produced

The 1987–1988 Donald Judd exhibition at the Stedelijk Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven was a landmark retrospective showcasing over two decades of the artist’s minimalist sculptures. Featuring Judd’s iconic use of industrial materials, repetition, and geometric forms, the exhibition emphasized spatial clarity and precision. Curated by Rudi Fuchs, it included significant works in plywood and cadmium red light. The show later toured major European institutions, helping to expand Judd’s international reputation and influence. Accompanied by a richly illustrated catalogue with an essay by Rainer Crone, the exhibition remains a pivotal moment in the European reception of Judd’s artistic legacy.

Following its run in Eindhoven, the exhibition traveled to several major European institutions:
Stedelijk Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven (April 26 – June 8, 1987)
Städtische Kunsthalle, Düsseldorf (June 27 – August 9, 1987)
ARC/Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (December 8, 1987 – February 7, 1988)
Fundació Joan Miró, Barcelona (February 25 – April 24, 1988)
Castello di Rivoli, Turin (June 4 – September 30, 1988)
